Hendon Rural District Council:

Hendon RDC publshed a 40-page illustrated report at the end of the 1930-31 municipal year. The illustrations below depict the front cover of the report and the title page.
The four cover drawings, by an unknown artist, are labelled (from the top, clockwise): 'In the North', 'In the East', 'In the South' and 'In the West'.
The Chairman of the Council at this time was Edward Bernard Montesole (1883-1976) of East House, Moss Lane; he held the position of Chairman of Hendon RDC from 1930 to 1933. Montesole was rural district councillor for the Pinner Village ward (1927-34) and Middlesex County Councillor for the Pinner electoral division (1933-37). He donated the land known as Montesole Playing Fields for public use and was instrumental in persuading Hendon RDC to purchase Headstone Manor.
